About Us
DogProductPicker.com was created to be an all-in-one resource for dog lovers. Our creator and lead editor, Joe Hughes, has been a dog lover all his life. There’s simply nothing he loves more than his dog, Dobby!
Growing up, Joe loved to play with his Golden Retriever, Tippy, in the backyard. Playing fetch was their favorite game, with chase coming in as a close second. They would spend hours upon hours outside playing. Those times with Tippy are some of Joe’s fondest childhood memories.
Eventually, Tippy had to be put to sleep due to hip problems. This hurt Joe tremendously. However, Joe persevered and got a Bachelor’s of Science from the University of Connecticut and Master’s Degree from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst. Shortly before graduating, he rescued Dobby from a local rescue organization.
Joe and Dobby have been best friends for nearly 5 years. They do everything together – play, walk, eat, sleep, jump on Joe’s girlfriend – everything! They are perfect compliments to one another.
Over the years of dog ownership, Joe has spent an extensive amount of time researching different dog breeds, dog tips, and dog products. Because of that, we aim to bring you the latest dog product reviews, articles, and helpful training tips through helpful content and strategic acquisitions! Our comprehensive dog product buying guides have helped thousands of readers give their dog the absolute best toys to play with, crates to sleep in, and training tips to succeed.
We’re here for you, our readers! Should you have any questions, please feel free to get in contact with us!
Our Product Review Process
Our product review process is simple – our writers find what they consider to be the best products on Amazon for the topic at hand. Our site is a review aggregate site, so they summarize the products that they feel are best for the article topic. Please note that we do not test the items ourselves.

Acquisitions
From time to time, DogProductPicker.com will make strategic acquisitions in order to grow our web presence. These acquisitions are necessary to facilitate future growth and put our website in front of the eyes of millions of new users. Below, in no particular order, are the list of acquisitions that we have made:
AnimalAnd.org
AnimalAnd.org was a premier animal website that served to teach youth about animals. The website was formally run by the ASPCA. The website covered everything that someone needed to know about dogs – from breed information, to caring tips, to product reviews – AnimalAnd.org had everything! There was even an encyclopedia that touched on various other types of animals.
By acquiring AnimalAnd.org, DogProductPicker.com is strategically positioning ourselves as a website that not only educates adults, but people of all ages. Our website is not intended to be used by children. Rather, we want parents use our site as a resource to find dog breed information and caring tips. This information can then be passed down to the child in whichever way the parent sees fit.
Some of the topics that AnimalAnd.org covered, that we either do cover or plan on covering are as follows:
- How to safely walk your dog on a leash
- Keeping your dog safe in a playpen, outdoor kennel, or electric dog fence
- How train your dog to go in a dog crate and on a dog bed
- How to make sure your dog is eating safe and nutritious dog foods (and using an automatic dog feeder)
- How to make sure your dog is properly groomed (with a dog brush, hair dryer, shampoo, and nail clippers)
- Keeping your dog healthy with CBD Oil, Calming Aids, Joint Supplements, and other medications
- How to protect your dog from fleas with a flea collar and flea treatments
- Keeping your dog entertained with an automatic fetch machine, interactive toys, and puzzle toys.
OklahomaZoo.org
OklahomaZoo.org was the site of one of Oklahoma’s most famous and covered zoos. The website covered everything the zoo had to offer and then some. We acquired the domain to help preserve the history of the zoo, as well as leverage their knowledge base to expand on our dog information articles.
