Some are made to shape to your Goldendoodle’s face with heat shaping technology, while others are designed to allow them to eat, drink and pant as needed. Below I will go into the different features available in muzzles, but before you continue always be sure to measure your Goldendoodle before purchasing a muzzle. If a muzzle doesn’t fit right then it can lead to chafing and pain for your dog.

Breathable

Having a breathable muzzle for your Goldendoodle is a great feature to have, especially if you live in a hot or humid area. The only way that dogs can cool down is to pant, remember that just because it doesn’t feel hot to you does not mean it doesn’t feel hot to them thanks to their fur coats. It is necessary that if you live in a hot place, especially in the summer, to be sure your dog can pant freely.

If you have a Goldendoodle that has a slightly odd or not average face shape this allows you to make it snug without it being too tight. When putting the muzzle on your Goldendoodle, be sure to leave two fingers of space between the muzzle and their snout for comfort.

Heat Shaping

Heat shaping is a feature that allows you to shape the muzzle to your Goldendoodle’s snout in a custom fit. It’s simple. Heat up the muzzle and shape it carefully until it matches your dog’s snout, then you put it in ice water until it is cool. Once cool you put it on your Goldendoodle and adjust it as necessary until it is how you like it.
