The Bulloxer, like most hybrids, doesn’t have a clear history or motive. We know that at some point, it was created by crossbreeding the Boxer and the American Bulldog. This breed is also known to have originated in the USA. Apart from that, to understand it, we need to look at the history of its parents. The American Bulldog is a reasonably known breed thought to have descended from the common ancestor of all Bulldogs, the Asiatic Mastiff. The breed is known for its prowess in fighting and guarding. The species was pretty notorious in the 1800s because of its strength.
The Boxer is another strong breed. This breed is thought to be descended from the Tibetan Mastiffs. The actual development of this breed can be tied back to Germany in the 1800s. This breed was crossbred with the German Bullenbeisser. Similar to the Bulldog, this breed became recognized for its fighting strength. It was even more desirable because of its friendly nature beyond the ring. The AKC accepted the breed in 1904.
