Collie Pyrenees is playful, friendly, and calm. They are hybrid dogs and result from a cross between Collie and the Great Pyrenees. People also call them Border Pyrenees and Great Collie, which are both pretty decent names. They were bred as designer dogs, but it wasn’t until the last 2-3 decades that they caught the public eye.
These dogs have relatively big. They reach an average height of around 28 – 30 inches. Consequently, they are not well suited for the apartment lifestyle. But if you have a spacious house or an open yard with a fence, we would recommend that you make this ball of sunshine a part of your family.

The Great Pyrenees originated from Siberia or Central Asia. It is believed that they migrated with the Aryans around 1800B.C – 1000 B.C. They spend thousands of years in the mountains of Pyrenees, with peasant shepherds, to protect the livestock from all kinds of predators.
Collie Pyrenees Characteristics
Collie Pyrenees are big, strong, and sturdy. Their well-built frame supports their big size well. With medium-sized and well build legs, they are made for activity. They can adopt either almond or oval-shaped eyes from either of their parents. Depending on which mood they’re in, their triangular ears can be up-right, floppy, or half looped.
They are available in two varieties, rough and smooth. Rough ones have a long coat with fluffy hair, while the smooth varieties have shorter coats.
