Corgi Schips are Intelligent, energetic, and affectionate. They inherit these highly admirable traits from their parents, both of which are well respected and highly prized dogs themselves. These alert dogs are hybrids resulting from a cross between the Welsh Corgi and the Schipperke. The Welsh Corgi can be either from Cardigan or the Pembroke bloodline.

These little canines have small sizes, just like their parents. Usually, they have a full black coat, but occasionally you may find white spots on their chest area and under-parts. They usually inherit a barrel-like body from the corgis, which gives them a really cute and appealing appearance.

Corgi Schip History

Corgi Schip Dog Breed Information All You Need To Know

As a new breed that started in 2000, Corgi schip doesn’t have much history to its name. But we can look at their parent’s history to get to know these beautiful dogs better. The Pembroke-Welsh Corgi Originated in the 1100s, and in 1962, this variety began showing up in shows and rivalries. They descended from the spitz family, and the Flemish wavers are believed to be their initial breeders.

Schipperke was believed to be descended from the Belgian shepherds, but unlike their ancestors, they were used for hunting Vermin, and some were even used as watchdogs in ships that roamed the canals of Brussels and Antwarp. The AKC officially recognized them in 1904.

Corgi Schip Characteristics

As a descendent of two small-sized dogs, this canine is doesn’t grow taller than 13 inches. Their bodies are tiny, compact, and petite, most of them resembling the Corgi. Their coats are usually dense with medium-length hair that are rough to the touch. You may see that they have longer hair on their ears and on their legs and ruffs, which is completely normal.

Their coats’ colors are mostly black with a tinge of fawn and white. Their triangular and up-right ears rest high on their well-proportional heads. The things that animate these little balls of happiness are their facial expression and their expressive eyes, which can be round and oval.

How Big Do Corgi Schip Get

But on average, their price can be anything between $800 and $1400. Other expenses include accessories, health insurance, and grooming tools like nail clippersear cleaners, and bathtubs.

Corgi Schip Temperament/Personality

Corgi schips are smart, caring, and alert dogs. They love spending time and forming tight bonds with their human families. Their behavior with others can vary and is dependent on which parent breed dominated in them. If they resemble the Schipperke, their behavior would be aloof, so socializing them early on can be helpful in this matter.

They often inherit the herding instincts of the Corgi and may start herding other animals and even people. But if you have trained them properly and kept them socially involved, they won’t cause any problems and would be a delight to have in your house.
