Ewokian, also known as promenese, is an adorable mix of two popular breeds: the Havanese and the Pomeranian. Both parent breed has small sizes so the resulting breed would be a tiny-sized. These cute little canines are great companions and get along well with kids and other pets; however, supervision is recommended around small children.

The Ewokian got its name from its teddy bear looks. These furry balls are not difficult to train, and they want to spend time with you. If you are getting one of these, make sure to spend enough time with them; otherwise, they will likely develop separation anxiety and self-destructive behaviours.

Ewokian History

Ewokian Dog Breed Information All You Need To KnowThe Ewokian is a pretty new designer breed, and its origins are not clear. The history of this canine is not well-documented as well so, let’s have a look at the history of its parents to get an idea. The Pomeranian is a small-sized canine produced in Pomerania at the Baltic sea that is located between Poland and Germany. Initially, they were medium-sized dogs, but breeders reduced their size to increase their beauty. The AKC (American Kennel Club) registered this pup in 1909.

The Havanese is a unique dog that has origins in Cuba. These pups were brought to Cuba by Spanish settlers back in the 15th century. By the Mid 18th century, the Europeans imported this breed from Cuba. These dogs are rare, and there are only 11 distinct canines of this breed outside Cuba. The AKC (American kennel club) registered this breed in 1996.

Eurasier Characteristics

Ewokian is a hybrid of two toy-sized dogs so that they would have a small size. They have medium to long-sized coat that is dense, fluffy and straight. The possible coat colors are pied, black, white, fawn, silver, cream, brown, brindle, grey and sable or can mix any of these colors. Their head is round that is covered with hair, and their small ears are erect with long hair. They have a proportionate muzzle with a black nose. Their eyes are shiny with a brown shade, and the tail is curved over their body.

Ewokian Temperament/Personality

Loving, affectionate and caring, this hybrid canine is well-suited for apartment living. The Ewokian is a very sensitive dog that needs the companionship of the family. This breed is great with kids and other pets, but it should be supervised around kids under five, as their small size won’t help them, and they could be hurt.

The Ewokian has moderate levels of energy as both of their parents have. They are not hard to train, but it is recommended to be patient and use positive feedback to encourage them. These canines are eager-to-please, and they love to play. This breed gets along well with strangers, and they are not shy at all.

Break their meal into two or more and give them accordingly. Make sure to provide special dogs’ food to keep them healthy and fit.

How to Groom Ewokian

The Ewokian can be hypoallergenic. It will totally depend on the dominance of the parent in the canine. These canines have medium to long-sized hair that needs daily brushing. You can use a bristle brush specially made for dogs to avoid tangling and matting. They have long hairs on the ears, so clean them weekly. Brush your pups’ teeth at least twice a week with special dogs’ toothpaste to avoid dental issues and clip their nails using special nail clipper for dog when they need. Don’t bathe them too often, as it may cause their skin to get dry and only use special dogs’ shampoo when they really need to be bathed. Professional grooming after 7 to 8 months is also recommended.

Ewokian Activity Levels

Ewokian needs a moderate level of activity and exercise to maintain its energy. These small canines get most of the activity and exercise during running and wandering around the house. However, take them on a daily walk or quick short runs for about 30 to 45 minutes a day to cheer them up.
