The Havaton is a mix of two lovely breeds. The Havanese is the first parent that we will be looking at today. Spanish Settlers developed the breed. They came to the shores of Cuba in the 14^th Century and brought along small dogs. The dogs then crossbred with the local dogs. Their crossing resulted in the Havanese. The Havanese went on to become one of the most desired breeds in Cuba.

The Coton de Tulear is an attractive breed from the equally attractive area of Madagascar. The existence of the breed only became apparent recently. Before its discovery by the French on the Island of Madagascar, it remained unknown to the outside world. On the Island, it enjoyed a lot of fame and adoration. The breed is also believed to have been used extensively by pirates. The Coton de Tulear in today’s world enjoys limitless love and fame.

Havaton Characteristics

The Havaton is a breed that exhumes happiness. It’s honestly one of the most pleasant-looking breeds in appearance. The Havaton will usually have a dense, fluffy coat. The length of the coat is usually medium to semi-medium in length. The coat colors for the Havaton include Brown, Cream, Black, White, Grey, and Brown. The body shape of the Havaton is cylindrical with chonky legs. It will have drooping ears and healthy round eyes.

The Havaton is a breed quite similar to the Havanese in proportions. The height range for the male Havaton is 10 to 12 inches. The height range for the female Havaton is 8 to 11 inches. The corresponding weight range is 9 to 13 inches for males and 7 to 12 inches for females.

The Havaton has a lifespan, which has been statistically derived from the life spans of its parents. Commonly the Havaton will live between 10 and 14 years.
