The Bichon Frise belongs to the Barbichon family of dogs which originated in the 13th century in Europe, and they’re considered one of the most famous dog breeds of all time. At one point, it became so popular in Tenerife (the Largest Island of canary) that it was known by the name Bichon Tenerife.

Ja-Chon Nutrition

Ja-Chon is a small-sized breed that generally has little to no appetite. Dog food made especially for small dogs is recommended because it has the right amount of nutrition required for these pups. When feeding something other than dog food, try to give them in tiny portions as these pups have a small jaw so their bite size is small.

How To Groom a Ja-Chon

Your Ja-Chon will have medium-length hair, and it will be curly most of the time. Bathing once a week with good dog shampoo and drying with a dog hair dryer will prevent hair entanglement. It has tiny nails which require trimming every other week. Its hair tends to stand out from the body like its parent breed Bichon Frise. Brushing once every week will keep it away from matting.

Ja-Chon Activity Levels

Most of the time, running around an apartment will exhaust these pups but, occasional visits to the park for a brisk walk will keep them healthy. They have quite a low level of activity on the physical side but, their mind is always working on how to entertain the people watching them. So, be sure not to overexert any physical activity as it can affect their mental abilities. It only needs 30 mins of physical activity daily.

Caring For Ja-Chon

Ja-Chon itself does not develop any major life-threatening illness, but it does have the tendency to develop gum diseases. So, brushing with a medicated dog toothpaste using a dog toothbrush on a daily basis (recommended) or every other day is necessary. Also, try not to leave your canine alone for long periods; they don’t like it and may suffer from separation anxiety.

Ja-Chon Health

This hybrid breed does not suffer from any genetic disease but can develop Patellar Luxation, Hip Dysplasia, Bladder Stones, and Cataracts. So, keeping it in mind, your Ja-Chon will require some occasional tests that include Eye Examinations, Full physical Joints Examination, Hip, and Kneecap Examination.
