Malanees History

Malanees Dog Breed Information All You Need To KnowThe Malanees doesn’t have an in-depth background story because it’s a new breed, but fear not! Its parents have been around for a long time. The Great Pyrenees was developed in the French Pyrenees Mountains, where it got its name and was created for the purpose of guarding flocks.

It was perfectly capable of protecting other animals from hunters or wolves/bears and was also a lovely companion.

The Alaskan Malamute was developed by Nomads (the Inuit people) in Alaska several years ago. It was created to pull sleds because it was a strong, reliable, fearless, and hardworking dog.

In addition, the Alaskan Malamutes are quite affectionate and have been very close to people, which is why they’re super loving and don’t do well on their own.

Malanees Characteristics

The Malanees dogs have a gentle, sweet, loving, affectionate, independent, strong-willed, devoted, and calm personality. Depending on which parent is more dominant in them, they’ll either be sweet, loving, caring, and strong, or fearless, watchful, vigilant, patient, and gentle. The Malanees are a perfect combination of both parents’ wonderful qualities!

They have double-coated fur that is thick and dense and of long length. The coat can come in many colors, such as black, white, gray, silver, brown, and red. The texture of the coat is normally straight but may vary. Also, it is mostly observed that the tall and triangular ears of the Alaskan Malamute are dominant in the Malanees.

How Big Do Malanees Get

A regular adult male Malanees has a height of around 25-32 inches and weighs around 85-100 pounds, whereas a regular female adult Malanees has about 23-29 inches height and weighs around 75-90 pounds. When they’re only six months old, they are around 17-18 inches tall and weigh between 52-58 pounds.

How Long Does A Malanees Live

The average lifespan for a Malanees is 10-12 years. It’s generally a healthy dog and is likely to live a full life. We can also play our part in tipping this number up by giving proper care to our dog and ensuring it has a good diet, enough physical activity, lots of love, and positive energy.

How Much Does A Malanees Cost

Malanees dogs are a new breed and, therefore, not very common. So, it can be pretty tough to find them. But, on average, they cost somewhere between $900-$2000 depending on their quality and the breeder we buy from. Other expenses include vaccination shots, license, Crates, doghouse, etc.

Malanees Temperament/Personality

The Malanees is calm, patient, affectionate, and super loving. But apart from these, it does tend to bark a lot because of its Pyrenees parent, who likes to be vocal. In the puppy stage, our Malanees is gonna need plenty of proteins and essential nutrients for healthy growth. It is advised to feed it chicken, oats, and good quality Dry Dog Food. It is better to keep it on a Grain-Free Diet and give it raw foods after consulting with the vet as it grows older.

How To Groom A Malanees

The Malanees is quite easy to maintain when it comes to bathing. However, the Malamutes have been famous for shedding so much that one could make another dog out of the fur!
