The Poogle is a cross between the Poodle and the Beagle. Both of these are inherently friendly dogs, except when it comes to small animals. You will learn about that and a lot more things in the next few paragraphs. In the next few paragraphs, you will ALSO learn about the requirements/needs of this breed.

The end goal is to understand what it needs and whether it is compatible with you. So without any further waste of time, let’s get on with it.

Poogle History

Poogle Dog Breed Information All You Need To KnowWe can’t say for sure why the Poogle was bred. There are no records of its birth or the reasoning behind its birth. We can only speculate while considering the history of its parents. The Poodle is one of the parents of this breed. The Poodle, contrary to popular belief, is a German Breed. It was originally used as a Water Fowl hunter. France adopted the breed after its decline in Germany. There it developed into the Standard version you see today.

The Beagle has a mixed history. We do know with 100 percent surety that it was a popular Gun dog and hound. The breed has been around since the Fabled times of the Round Table of King Arthur. So a dog from the times of King Arthur’s round table has been crossed with a breed meant to hunt waterfowl. The resulting breed, the Poogle, could have been deliberately bred this way, or it could be a fortunate random event.

Poogle Characteristics

The physical appearance of the Poogle tends to vary quite a lot. It’s not surprising because of the Poogle’s diverse parentage. The coat will usually stay close to medium length. The texture of the coat should be soft and medium length. The colors are standard Poodle colors with a bit of Beagle mixed in. So what we are saying is that Silver, White, and Brown are prominent colors for this breed.

How Big do Poogle Get

The Poogle will generally be 6 to 16 inches tall and 11 to 25 lbs heavy. The proportions for both males and females generally remain the same. The small size of the Poogle means that it needs care in handling. If you have children in your house, then you need to be extra careful.

How Long Does Poogle Live

The life expectancy of the Poogle is comparatively less. Generally, it will live between 10 and 13 years of age. You can try to push for 14 or even 15 years with diet, exercise, and proper medical attention. However, we wouldn’t keep our hopes high. Cherish every moment with your doggie is the only advice we can give you.

How Much Does a Poogle Cost

The initial price for the Poogle is quite less. You can get a healthy doggie for 150 dollars to 800 dollars. This range is quite wide because of the varying region-based marketplaces. You can expect the price to rise if the Poogle has certain colors or appearances.

Poogle Temperament/Personality

The Poogle has Beagle blood coursing through its veins. This could make it a hazard around small pets and strangers. However, you can easily keep the Poogle with other dogs and pets with a bit of socialization. The Poogle has been known to be a bit of a barker. You can use a Dog Silencer as a temporary solution to this problem. In the long term, you will have to train it.

The Poogle is needy in the attention department. It plays out in the owner’s favor. Needing attention means that you can train it easily. If you have prior experience, then training it should be a piece of cake. The use of a Dog Training Book and Dog Training Treats is highly recommended.

Caring for Poogle

This is the final section, and it deals with all of the necessities. This section will allow you to make the right choices for your buddy’s health by allowing you to understand its needs.

Poogle Nutrition

The Poogle will require about one US Standard Cup of food. The generally isn’t picky about food, but you can still pique its interest with Dog Food Toppings. With a wide variety of toppings, it will be much happier than before with its food.

How to Groom a Poogle

You won’t have to put much effort into the maintenance of the Poogle’s coat. Ideally, brushing its coat four times per week is enough. You may brush it daily if you have the time. Along with coats come the teeth. You should also brush your teeth as often as possible. If you ignore its teeth, then various infections and teeth decay will settle in. You should bathe the Poogle after one month. You may use a Dog Bath Tub if you don’t want to have a bathtub. If the Poogle has a certain smell that hasn’t stopped after a bath, then use a Stain and Odor Remover.

Poogle Activity Levels

The activity requirements of the Poogle are moderate compared to other dogs of its size. You will have to give it about 50 minutes of daily exercise and activity. We understand that you may not have the time, which is why we recommend the Dog Treadmill. The treadmill will take care of the major activity needs; afterward, take it for a 10 min stroll to the park.

Caring for Poogle

Certain things will make the life of the Poogle easier and healthier. First of all, do not use anything with Chocolate, Garlic, Cloves, or Onions in its diet. All of these are toxic to your doggie. They will rot your doggies’ health and life. Apart from this, you should keep your doggie in a positive environment. Keeping your doggie in a negative family or environment will lead to emotional dissociation and aggression.

Poogle Health

With mixed blood, the Poogle is bound to have a lot of medical problems. The most prominent conditions will be Patellar Luxation, Hypothyroidism, Addison’s Disease, PRA, and Peridontal Disease. We can name at least seven more potentially grievous conditions, but naming them won’t do any good. So instead, we will give you the “Go to Guide” of avoiding these conditions.

First of all, attention to diet is important. Maintain what it eats. A living being is as lively as its food. The healthier the food, the better your buddy will be. Second, come exercise routines. The healthier your exercise routines are, the better they will be. Third, please don’t ignore its mental health. Finally, take it to the vet, for god’s sake. If you ignore weekly or monthly check-ups, its health is bound to get worse.
