The Telomian is a highly uncommon purebred dog and the only Malaysian canine breed that has been bred from outside Malaysia.
The Malaysian indigenous people developed them to combat pests like snakes, rats, mice, and other tiny forest creatures. The Telomian is a dog that looks like a Basenji, but it has a distinct personality. He is a more athletic dog than most other dog breeds, and he is not as tamed as other dog breeds. Because he is descended from wild dogs such as dingoes, he is not always the finest family buddy.
He needs to be socialized with people & other dogs from a young age. For families with tiny children, he is not suggested.

Dr. Elliot brought a pair of Telomians into the country.
The second batch of Telomians arrived in the United States in 1973. Many people think that all Telomians in the United States who weren’t directly imported are descended from these two pairings. Unfortunately, in the United States, there are still too few dogs to qualify for formal recognition by the American Breed Standards.
