The Weeranian is a cross between a West Highland White Terrier & a Pomeranian are his father breeds.

He is a little dog that grows to be over a foot tall when fully grown. He’ll probably weigh around fifteen pounds. He’s a happy, adorable little dog. His hair is usually long and curly, but it may be wavy. To keep his coat healthy, he’ll need just little maintenance. He gets along well with singles, elders, and families with kids. He is content in an apartment or a house, even without a fenced-in yard. Any household will benefit from having a Weeranian.

Weeranian History

Weeranian Information Everything You Need To KnowThe Weeranian is a hybrid breed that is just a few years old. While there is limited evidence about the Weeranian’s history, we may still research the parent breeds to learn more about the hybrid breed’s origins.

The West Highland White Terrier, or Westie, is a Scottish breed. He was one of several Terrier breeds found in the region, which might be linked.

The West Highland White Terrier was initially registered with the English Breed Standard in 1906; however, it is unknown how the Westie arrived in America. The Pomeranian has a long history of being a popular breed.

Mozart, Michelangelo, Isaac Newton, and Martin Luther, the church reformer, are all reported to have had a Pomeranian at some point in their lives.

The Pomeranian was also a well-liked dog among the upper crust. Queen Victoria was supposed to have acquired numerous Pomeranians and assisted in developing the Pomeranian into the little dog he is today.

The first Pomeranian was registered with the American Breed Standards in 1888. While we don’t know how the Pomeranian went to America, we know that it has always been a popular breed.

Weeranian Characteristics

The Weeranian is a little dog with a short coat.  He’ll most likely be under eleven inches tall as well. The female is a fraction of an inch shorter than the male. His hair would be long and curly or straight, and it will be curly hair.

The dominant parent breed usually determines his coat color. However, he might be black, red, white, tan, or brown.

How Big Can A Weeranian Get?

The Weeranian is a little dog with a short coat. In adulthood, he will weigh little more than 14 or 15 pounds. He’ll most likely be under eleven inches tall as well.

How Long Can A Weeranian Live?

The lifespan of a Weeranian is 12-15 years.

How Much Does Weeranian Cost?

The Weeranian is a crossbreed. Hence it is less expensive than purebred. The typical cost in this hybrid breed is between $400 and $600. Food, medical, and other expenses should total roughly $1,000 per year.

Because the Weeranian is a hybrid breed, finding breeders specializing in the Weeranian is challenging. They’re also not registered with breed standards, so you’ll have to do your research on breeders. Look through publications, search the internet, & join breed fan clubs.

If you knew of any in the neighborhood, talk to the owners and get their feedback on the breeders. Always meet with a breeder before purchasing a dog from them. Ensure that you get the opportunity to meet the pup you wish to adopt and the mother.

Weeranian Personality/Temperament

The Weeranian is a little dog that is gentle, affectionate, and lively. He’s a delight being around every time. The Weeranian is never bashful and has never met a stranger. He’s a rambunctious little puppy that never fails to amuse anybody he meets.

He works well with individuals, the elderly, and family couples. Many other breeds are more difficult to teach than he is. He is, in fact, desperate to impress his master.

Weeranian Nutrition

As a very active breed, buying high-quality dog food with such a high protein content can aid in the development of robust muscles in your Weeranian. It’s up to you whether you give dry kibble, wet food, a combination of the two (or a raw food diet), and a Weeranian will thrive on any of them.

Treats are a great way to keep your dog motivated throughout exercise, but make sure to account for them when calculating your dog’s daily portion—letting your Weeranian gain too much weight might put additional strain on their long backs, increasing the chance of injury.

A Weeranian only needs 1 cup of dog food each day, and it should be high in protein and carbs.

How Do You Groom A Weeranian?

A significant amount of upkeep is required for the Weeranian. If you don’t brush his long hair regularly, it will mat. He’ll need to be brushed once a week to get rid of dead hair & skin. Take extra precautions with his “ruff,” which is sensitive to tangling.

Every 6 to 8 weeks, bathe him. To protect his skin from becoming irritated, use an all-natural shampoo. Brush his teeth 2 to 3 times a week to avoid tartar build-up and foul breath; however, brush his teeth every day to prevent tooth decay. Every 2 to 3 weeks, he should have his nails trimmed.

Weeranian Activity Level

To stay happy and healthy, the Weeranian will not require much activity. A visit to the dog park will be fun for him, and he will benefit from the socialization with other dogs.

He will happily follow you on short, quick walks around the neighborhood. The Weeranian will love free playing in the yard, but he must never be let stray outside a gated area without supervision.

Weeranian Health Concerns

A Weeranian is a generally healthy breed. They are descended from a line of ancestors.

Even so, get them to the veterinary for annual exams to ensure that any health problems are discovered early. The Weeranian, on the other hand, is an exception. This breed is quite healthy, with minimal health issues to be concerned about. Apart from elbow & hip dysplasia, this breed does not suffer from other diseases.
