A Yoranian is a crossbreed. He is affectionately known as a ‘Yorkie Pom.’ Despite his little stature, this small dog is strong and well-built.

He gets along nicely with the children. Unlike many little dogs, however, they must always be watched.

He is a joyful dog with a strong attachment to his owner. This bouncy tiny Terrier has no idea he’s a small dog.

In a small dog package, he has a huge dog attitude. Senior citizens frequently own and enjoy the breed.

Yoranian History

Yoranian Information 768x1024The Yoranian has all of the positive traits of his parental breeds. A Pomeranian is a little dog that descends from a bigger Spitz breed.

Spitz dog breeds in tough Arctic environments. Despite its little stature, the Pomeranian has the rough demeanor of his bigger forefathers.

The fluffy dog is thought to have gotten his name from Pomerania, which is situated in Northern Germany & Poland.

The breed has been around since 1764. Mercury and Phoebe, two little dogs, were brought to England by representatives of the British Royals in the late 1700s.

The breed grew in popularity across the United Kingdom over time. Two Pomeranians set sail on the Titanic’s deadly voyage in 1912.

They were fortunate enough to survive the sinking of the ship. In 1900, the American Breed Standards recognized the Pomeranian breed and placed it in the Toy Group.

The Yorkshire Terrier is a little dog with a huge, fearless personality. More than a century ago, he was bred to chase mice in the mines of Yorkshire, England.

Because they could readily access the dens of the prey, they were popular dogs for fox and badger hunts. The Yorkie was originally known as the ‘Broken Haired Scotch,’ but the company was renamed Yorkshire Terrier in 1874.

Yorkies began to be introduced into the U. S. in the latter half of the 1800s. The American Breed Standards first recognized the breed in 1878.

Youranian Characteristics

The hue of the Yoranian ranges from cream to apricot. His fur is a little wiry, giving him a worn look. His ears perk up to give him a sense of alertness.

His little button nose and dark eyes are typical of a little boy. The Yoranian’s tail is short and prefers to rise across his body in a flipping posture.

His little visage is reminiscent of a Pomeranian with a small snout. This adorable hybrid knows where he’s going and walks with purpose.

How Big Can A Yoranian Get?

The Yoranian would most likely grow to be little more than 6-10 inches tall and weigh just under 3-7 pounds.

How Long Can A Yoranian Live?

The Yoranian is a  dog with a reasonable lifespan compared to other dogs of this kind.

The life expectancy of this mixed breed is mainly determined by their health, which varies depending on good monitoring and care. It has a lifetime of 10 – 12 years on average.

How Much Does A Yoranian Cost?

The cost of a Yoranian is around 400$-1000$. That covers the puppy; it does not include things like a cage, immunizations, vet visits, a collar, food, water bowls, etc.

In reality, the cost of a Yoranian could be much more or cheaper. A genuinely excellent example may easily cost $800.

Similarly, you could be lucky to get one in your area for just a few hundred dollars.

Yoranian Personality/Temperament

A Yoranian is a brave small dog who likes his masters but is suspicious of others. If he isn’t socialized enough, he might become overprotective.

Unlike many tiny dogs, the Yoranian gets along well with children when reared with them. However, interaction must be watched because he might be injured if handled violently or incorrectly.

He also likes to play with other cats and dogs. When exposing him to tiny creatures, like hamsters, exercise caution since his Terrier hunting instinct may kick in.

Yoranian Nutrition

Each day, a Yoranian requires only 1 cup of dog food, which should be full of protein & carbohydrates.

However, because it is a high-energy dog, you should provide it with a diet rich in nutritious carbs and a sufficient quantity of crude protein.

You may either add some water to that Dry Dog Food or use Wet Dog Food.

How Do You Groom A Yoranian?

The Yoranian sheds a little, but not a lot. Brushing him once a day is usually enough to remove stray hair and avoid matting. He doesn’t require grooming regularly.

Many dog owners wash their dogs’ teeth once or twice a week to avoid plaque buildup, leading to severe tooth loss.

Because this little dog is normally highly active, his toenails are frequently worn down to a reasonable length. If he does not naturally maintain his toenails short, you will need to cut them every month.

His erect ears are normally clean, but if dirt accumulates inside the ear flaps, it may be cleaned away easily with a towel.

Yoranian Activity Level

For the Yoranian, a once-daily stroll is generally adequate. He is a boisterous little boy who likes going on walks & interacting with his toys.

It is recommended that you maintain a stock of toys, particularly chew toys, on hand to keep the little guy occupied. Because he can run and play with other dogs, a day at a park is typically the right way to create this little scamp happily.

He is quite intelligent, quickly taught tricks, & excels at obedience. When it’s chilly outside, make sure he’s adequately dressed and doesn’t spend too much time outside.

Yoranian Health Concerns

One of the most crucial variables to consider when purchasing a dog is the pet’s health. Crossbred dogs are typically less healthy than mixed-breed dogs, leaving them more susceptible to health issues.

On the other hand, the Yoranian is an outlier. This breed is relatively healthy, with only a few small health concerns to be aware of. This breed is free of all diseases except for elbow and hip problems.
