The Yorkshire Terrier & The Norwich Terrier were crossed to create the Yorwich, a tiny, shaggy dog. Its hair is tan, brown, black, or a mix of these colors, and its fur is smooth & medium length.

These dogs get along well with children and other animals, and they are always on the lookout for new playmates. Yorwich is kind, brave, and active.

They adjust well to living in apartments but not so well to living in frigid regions.

Yorwich History

Yorwich Information 768x1024The Yorkshire Terrier and the Norwich Terrier were crossed to create the Yorwich. Their origins, like those of most hybrid dogs, are unknown.

One of the earliest breeds is the Norwich Terrier. It is linked to a Norfolk Terrier and originated in England. Several breeds, including the Irish Terrier, contributed to creating this breed.

A breed known as the “Trumpington Terrier” was developed in the late 1800s by breeding the Cantab Terrier with the brindle hybrid.

The Norwich Terrier, sometimes known as the Jones Terrier, was created by crossing these Trumpington Terriers with Glen of Imaal Terriers.

These dogs were originally bred to hunt vermin, but when they came to the USA, they were soon employed to chase foxes from their caves. In the United States, the Norwich Terrier grew immensely popular, and many hunters began to acquire these dogs for hunting with dogs.

The American Breed Standards recognized the Norwich Terrier in 1979.

The Yorkshire Terrier, on the other hand, is descended from a Clydesdale and Paisley Terrier, the breed brought to Yorkshire through Scottish laborers.

These dogs, larger than Yorkshires, were used to clear mills of rats. Other Terriers, such as the English Black & Skye Terrier, were crossed with the Clydesdales.

Waterside Terrier, a little gray-coated dog, probably influenced the Yorkshire Terrier. The Yorkshire Terrier, often known as the Yorkie, was once known as the “broken-haired Scotch Terrier.”

The breed was given the name “Yorkshire Terrier” in 1870, after the county in which it originated. The American Breed Standards initially recognized the Yorkshire Terrier in 1885.

He’s OK when left own, but offer him toys to keep him occupied while you’re gone so he doesn’t chew up your stuff or engage in other harmful activity.

To avoid infection, you may need to clip his hair around his eyes, ears, and paws. With cotton and an ear cleaning product, clean his ears once a week. Brushing his teeth daily is also suggested because this mix is susceptible to dental problems.

Yorwich Activity Level

The Yorwich does not need a lot of activity. He is an energetic dog that enjoys taking a walk, playing in the home, or running about in a park without a leash. He will be happy and in shape if he goes for a brief 20 to 25-minute stroll.

Make playtime with him; he’ll love it if you play a fetch or tugging game with him. These puppies adapt well to a city apartment, but it is essential that you take them for a walk or even to a park every day to keep them happy.

It’s crucial to remember that the Yorwich enjoys warm conditions and does not thrive in chilly locations.

One of the most crucial variables to consider when purchasing a dog is the pet’s health. Crossbred dogs are typically less healthy than mixed-breed dogs, leaving them more susceptible to health issues.

On the other hand, the Yorwich is an outlier.

This breed is relatively healthy, with only a few small health concerns to be aware of. This breed is free of all diseases except for elbow and hip problems.
