The Mini Foxton is the perfect family dog for those looking for a medium- to large-sized canine with affectionate, loyal, and joyous qualities. It is the hybrid of the Boston Terrier and the Toy Fox Terrier and not fully stabilized in appearance or temperament for being new.

Nevertheless, it is a small-sized canine standing around 9-17 inches and weighs between 4-25 lbs. Therefore, they must be a combination of traits from their parent breeds, and in this article, we have revealed every detail about them.

Mini Foxton History

Mini Foxton Dog Breed Information All You Need To KnowThe history of Mini Foxton is not well-documented at this time. What is certain is that it was developed in the last two decades when hybrid dogs started. Its first parent breed, the Toy Fox Terrier, is a small-sized terrier from Australia in the 1800s. These dogs were produced by crossing the little Smooth Fox Terrier with Manchester Terrier.

The offspring of this cross were further bred with Whippets, Miniature Pinscher, English Toy Terriers and Italian Greyhounds to get a smaller version of the dog with the same features. The Boston Terrier (nicknamed as American Gentleman) originated in the US. Its ancestors are known to be the Bulldog and the White English Terrier. The earlier name of this dog was Bull Terrier, but Boston Terriers replaced this name in 1889.

Mini Foxton Characteristics

The Mini Foxton is a small-sized hybrid breed with a short coat harsh coat. It is small in size but has a strong and muscled body with a deep chest and a solid neck. The large erect ears it inherited from the Toy Fox Terrier parent, while the smooth and fine coat takes on the genes from the Boston Terrier. The tails are either long or short naturally.

How Big to Mini Foxton Get

The Mini Foxton stand around 9-17 inches at the shoulders and weighs between 4-25 lbs. The female dogs are slightly smaller than their male counterparts.

How Long Does Mini Foxton Live

The Mini Foxton can live for about 12-15 years on average with proper consideration of its upbringing, health, care, and diet routine. You can even increase this value with additional care and veterinary recommendations.

How Much Does a Mini Foxton Cost

The reasonable cost of Mini Foxton, ranging from $400 to $800, makes them one of the more affordable puppies to buy. This cost is very much less than that of their purebred parents’ cost. First, however, you have to invest time in tracking down this pup from a reputable breeder.

Mini Foxton Temperament/Personality

Kind, curious, and sometimes enthusiastic, the Mini Foxton makes an excellent family dog given proper attention. Typically, it is loyal, affectionate, and patient, forms an inseparable bond with its owners, and can even be your perfect napping partner. They are good to train, but positive reinforcement is the key to their training.

Furthermore, this pup tends to be very intelligent, athletic, fearless and loyal. It can also be vocal and moody at times, but this happens when they become destructive due to boredom and lack of stimulation and exercise. They get along well with other animals but maybe shy and wary of strangers.

It is a good idea to begin introducing strangers and other animals to your puppy at an early age to prevent shyness and wariness. However, despite its small size, it is not recommended for the condominium or apartment dwellers unless you provide ample exercise it needs for its high energy levels.

Caring for Mini Foxton

Although it is time-consuming and tricky to adopt a canine, but Mini Foxton is much easier to care for and feed due to its size. Before you make your mind up for this pup, here are a few things to bear in mind mentioned below.

Mini Foxton Nutrition

Make sure the food you are giving to your Mini Foxton is high-quality and protein-based. You can go for some well-known Dog Food Brands in this regard, and these are Wellness Dog Food, Pedigree Dog Food, and Iams Dog Food. The average food to give this pup is one cup, and it is best to divide that one cup into at least a few meals.

How to Groom a Mini Foxton

The Mini Foxton is of medium maintenance and need brushing twice a week to eliminate tangles. This hybrid is far a cry from hypoallergenic and so not recommended for people with allergies. You can wipe his coat with a damp washcloth to reduce bathing and help to retain the body oils.

Mini Foxton Activity Levels

On average, Mini Foxton requires 30 to 40 minutes of less intense exercise. It is a great idea to get it to a safe place to go off-leash like a canine park. Plan on playing games or giving your puppy Interactive Dog Toys to engage his mind.

Caring for Mini Foxton

Mini Foxton is an easily groomed and easily trained pup which can be the best choice for even a novice owner. You will find it adapting an apartment, condo, or family home with or without a fenced yard easily, either in an urban or rural setting.

The care of diet, exercise, grooming, and health is crucial once you take responsibility as a pet parent. The mental stimulation of your pup is just as important as physical fitness. Taking care of its hygiene keep it away from disease, and giving a balanced diet keep away issues like bloat and obesity.

Mini Foxton Health

As younger dogs, Mini Foxton is generally quite healthy, but with the growing age, there are health concerns that you and your vet should watch out for. This hybrid is prone to Patellar Luxation, Legg-Calve Perthes Disease, Joint issues and Cataracts. If you want your pup to be healthy, please buy only from a reputable breeder. Moreover, continue regular visits to the veterinarian as a part of its health regimen.
